How do I go about my work?

When it comes to marketing, there’s no one-size-fits-all. The “right” approach depends entirely on what you’re trying to sell and who you’re trying to reach.

If you’re wondering about my style, I’m not a fan of loud, flashy marketing. I believe a real connection happens when people can see themselves in your product or service.

About Me: My Story

Welcome once again! I’m Rina Fernández, currently working as a Senior Systems Analyst in the IT and Telecommunications department of a reputed MNC. Now, you might be thinking, “Hang on, what’s she got to do with marketing?” Well, let me take you back a bit.

Back in my final year at university, my flatmate Eliza decided to launch a small candle business. It was a modest setup, but these weren’t your everyday candles; they were hand-poured, crafted with distinctive essential oil blends, and presented in minimalist packaging that made them ideal for gifts or home décor.

Naturally, living together meant I got roped in! Before long, we were divvying up tasks: Eliza, ever the entrepreneur, focused on sales and developing the product line, while I put my mind to raising awareness and getting the word out about our lovely creations.

Given that we lived on campus, I realised we had access to a tight-knit, inquisitive community. With the right approach, we could genuinely capture people’s attention. So, we started by choosing a memorable name, then began collecting email addresses during purchases, and sent out light-hearted weekly updates showcasing our newest scents. Gradually, Eliza built a small yet loyal following, and before long, the business began to flourish.

Through all the experimenting and the constant effort to connect with more people, I stumbled upon something quite unexpected: I enjoyed it immensely. I loved deciphering what made someone pause, what caught their eye, what delighted them… and just as importantly, what didn’t.

That modest candle venture in a cramped student flat sparked a journey I hadn’t anticipated. Since then, I’ve freelanced with clients ranging from universities to charitable organisations, crafting digital strategies, elevating engagement, shaping narratives, and helping promote products in a way that connects.
